Current dividing

1. Set up ratio of resistors and currents like so:

I1/I2 = R2/R1

2. Rearrange the ratio to give I2 in terms of I1:

I2 = I1 x R1/R2

3. Since the total (IT) is I1 + I2, express IT in terms of I1 only.

4. Find I1.

5. Find I2.
